I've acted in my films. I've produced my films. I've written my films. Now, I want to direct my films. What better way to learn than to observe kick ass women filmmakers?
I've long been a fan of Besties Make Movies, a film company that churns out feminist masterpieces at a prolific rate. Its two founders, Stacey Maltin and Marzy Hart, graciously invited me onto their team as an Assistant Director for JONES, a soon-to-be-released short. Did I learn a TON.
Not to mention that the entire team was 95 percent women. HELL yes.
